Project Overview

Poor oral health can adversely impact the health outcomes and quality of life of people in palliative care. This study aims to develop, implement and evaluate a palliative oral health program to improve the oral health of people receiving palliative care in South Western Sydney.

Aims & Objectives

This study aims to develop, implement and evaluate a palliative oral health program to improve the oral health of people receiving palliative care in South Western Sydney.

This project will be conducted across three phases:

  1. Explore the perceptions, practices and knowledge of palliative care providers, dentists and patients in relation to oral health
  2. Develop and evaluate an education program for palliative care providers and dentists
  3. Pilot test this model of care.
