Project Overview
Poor oral health can adversely impact the health outcomes and quality of life of people in palliative care. This study aims to develop, implement and evaluate a palliative oral health program to improve the oral health of people receiving palliative care in South Western Sydney.
Aims & Objectives
This study aims to develop, implement and evaluate a palliative oral health program to improve the oral health of people receiving palliative care in South Western Sydney.
This project will be conducted across three phases:
- Explore the perceptions, practices and knowledge of palliative care providers, dentists and patients in relation to oral health
- Develop and evaluate an education program for palliative care providers and dentists
- Pilot test this model of care.
