Project Overview
Poor oral health among stroke survivors can increase the risk of hospital acquired pneumonia, increases length of hospital stay, and reduces a person’s quality of life. This project aims to develop a model of care that capacity builds stroke clinicians to promote oral health among stroke patients.
Aims & Objectives
This project aims to develop a model of care that capacity builds stroke clinicians to promote oral health among stroke patients. This will be conducted over three phases where the existing literature will be reviewed; people who have experienced a stroke, nurses and healthcare professionals will be interviewed; and a training program will be developed and pilot tested.
